Bertha M. Schie,

age 92, of Franklin Terrace, Strasburg died Tuesday in Community Hospice House following an extended illness. Born in Killbuck Twp. she was the daughter of the late John & Irene (Baughman) Simmerman and had lived in the Holmes/Wayne county area most of her life. She was of Methodist faith and enjoyed painting, cooking & crafts. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband: Gerald Schie; son: Jerry Schie; 1 brother and 2 sisters. She is survived by her son: Leland “Butch” (Myrna) Schie of Strasburg; daughters: Sandy Schie of Beach City, Connie (Robert) Boyd of Amherst; daughter-in-law: Gloria Schie of Kidron; grandchildren: Ralph, Lee, Jerry Schie, Shelly Mast; great-grandchildren: Tara, Nicole, Cory, Allison, Delaney, Matthew and great great-granddaughter: Emmalyn. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 am in the Spidell Funeral Home Mt. Eaton Chapel with Rev. Scott Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Killbuck Cemetery, Killbuck, OH. Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the Spidell Funeral Home Mt Eaton Chapel.
