Betty L. Roby,

age 87, of Canton, died Tuesday evening in Rose Lane Health Center following an extended illness. Born in Salem, WV she was the daughter of the late Matthew & Jessie Gail (McCuen) McBride and lived in the Stark County area most of her life. She retired from Marcells Nursing Home in Louisville and was of Catholic faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 10 siblings and son-in-law: John Mackey. She is survived by her son: Bradley Roby of Canton; daughters: Gwen Mackey of Canton, Karen (Joe) Roberson of Cabot, AR, Cindy Cline of Canton; brother: Eugene McBride; sisters: Becky (George) Krichbaum, Carolyn (Karl) Ney; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held for the family in the Wackerly Funeral Home with burial to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
