Donald Ray Mathess,

Age 59, of Canton left us on August 5, 2016. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years Joanne L. Mathess; his father Isaac “Dave” Mathess, his mother Carrie M. Mathess; his brother Charles “Chuck” Mathess; his niece Angela Mathess. He left behind to commemorate his legacy his loving children: Dawn (Titus) Rice Sr., Tiffany (Tim) Mathess, Monica (Geno) Clay and David Allen Clay all of Canton; special friend Lori Sandy; his grandchildren: Tyler, Brittany, Brianna and Titus Rice Jr.; Amber, Erika, Kacee, Alyssa and Kaya Moore; Serenity, Karissa and Jennica Clay and several great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his caring siblings John “Catfish” Mathess, William “Bill” Mathess, Pearl (Joe) Stolicny, Caroline Kinser, Linda (Jim) Chastain. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00a.m. Tuesday August 9th in the Wackerly Funeral Home with Mr. Burt Jones officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Monday evening from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday from 10 to 11 am in the funeral home. Loving husband, father and friend, avid bowler and contributor of the Children’s Miracle Network. For a man who always remembered everyone else first, may we remember him always. Rest with God.
