James C. Koufos,

 

age 88, of Alliance, died Monday in Crandell Medical Center, Sebring. Born in Canton he was the son of the late William & Antonia (Cambray) Koufos, a graduate of Timken High School and served in the U.S. Navy. Living in Alliance since 1950 he retired from American Steel Foundry as a foreman and owned & operated the Suntan Golf Club in Alliance. His memberships included Regina Coeli Catholic Church, the Alliance Elks #467 and the V.F.W. Alliance Post 1036. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother: Alex Koufos and sister Ann Koufos. He is survived by his daughter: Gay Christy of Beloit; son: James Colcerie of Phoenix, AZ; sister: Kathy Porter of Canton; brother: Chris Koufos of Canton; grandson: James (Jessica) Christy; great-granddaughter: Madeline Christy; several nieces & nephews and former wife: Jeri Koufos of Alliance. Graveside services will be Monday at 2:00 pm in North Lawn Cemetery with Fr. Patrick J. Manning officiating. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
