James U. McDowell, Jr.

age 65, of N. Canton, died Sunday following brief illness. A life resident of the Canton/North Canton area he was the son of the late James and Vera (Williams) McDowell, Sr. A graduate of Glenwood High School, the Unversity of Akron, he had worked at the Timken Company and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. Jim was always known as being gentle, quiet and a great husband & stay at home dad. He loved nothing more than to spend time with his family. He is survived by his wife: Bonnie (Davala) McDowell of the home; daughter: Mollie (John) Stanko of Lodi, OH. and sister: Linda (Paul) Miller of Newcomerstown, OH. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in the Wackerly Funeral Home with Fr. Edward L. Beneleit officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm in the funeral home. Donations may be made in his name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suit 500, Chicago, IL. 60611.
