Michael D. Corbett,

age 73, of Omaha, NE., died Thursday following a brief illness while visiting family here in Canton. Born in Great Bend, KS he was a graduate of the University of Kansas receiving a Bachelors of Science and Doctorate in Chemistry. Retiring as an educator and toxicologist he had lived and worked in several states, including Mississippi, Florida and then Nebraska. Michael was always proud of the success of his students. Michael was a loving husband, father and grandfather who took great pride in the successes of his children. One of his greatest pleasures was watching his grandchildren grow. He is survived by his wife: Bernadette (Chipko) Corbett of the home, formerly from Canton; sons: Steve (Lisa) Corbett, Jeffrey (Jenny) Corbett, Christopher (Tina) Corbett; daughters: Amy (Matt) Pugh, Melanie (Todd) Schuler; brother: John (Donna) Corbett; sister: Sue Corbett; grandchildren: Dade, Alexis, Skylar, Avery and Mia.
