Bernie, I only learned today of Mike's passing. What a great post doc mentor he was for me during my earliest years. I was looking for his email just today, after discovering a reference to our Bromoperoxidase papers in marine algae. Turns out, and I am not sure if he ever knew, that the bromoperoxidase paper scooped his old competitor Lowell Hager by 5 years ! Gave me a tickle, which now is tempered by a sadness. May he rest in peace. All the best.
