Robert C. Cummings, age 91, of Canton, died Tuesday July 4, 2017 following an extended illness. Born in Cameron WV he had lived in Florida most of his life before moving to Canton seventeen years ago. He served in U.S. Marines and worked most of his life as a meat cutter. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2223, North Canton, the Coral Cables Masonic Lodge #260, Coral Cables, FL where he received his 32nd degree, the Mahi Shriner of Miami and attended St. Peter Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his son: Robert Funcheon and brothers: Joseph Cummings and Richard Cummings. He is survived by his wife: Geraldine (Gatto) Cummings; sons: Michael Cummings, Richard Funcheon, Christopher Funcheon; daughters: Diana (Joseph) Hawes, Kimberley Cummings; brother: Alfred (JoAnn) Cummings; sister: Mary Patricia Holland; daughter-in-law: Tina Funcheon; grandchildren: Joseph Hawes, Sarah (Marshall) Smith, Nicholas Rogers and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home with Fr. John E. Sheridan officiating. Burial with military honors will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the funeral home. Masonic services will be held Saturday at 10:30 am in the funeral home by the McKinley Lodge #431, F&AM.
