Alice M. Thomas,

age 96, of Canton died Tuesday November 1, 2016 in Stone Crossing Care Center. A life resident of Canton she was the daughter of the late William & Agusta May (Hensley) Strong and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: William Thomas; sons: William, Michael, Anthony Thomas and son-in-law: Harvey Mehaffie. She is survived by her sons: John (Rose) Thomas of Canton, Charles (Mary) Joseph of Lindale, TX, Joseph (Betty) Thomas of Sandyville; daughters: Mary Ann (Russell) Sauner of Louisville, Joan Mehaffie of Canton; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 10:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Edward L. Beneleit as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. Friends may call Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am in the Wackerly Funeral Home.
