David H. Ott,
age 71, of Canton died Friday morning following an extended illness. A life resident of the Canton area he was a graduate of Glenwood High School, Stark State College and served in the U.S. Army. He worked many years as a meat cutter and in sales at various retail stores, retiring from Buehler's. Dave was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife: Elaine Ott of the home; son: Matthew (Julia) Ott of Canton; daughter: Sarah (Bradley) Fearn of Chattanooga, TN; mother: Mary Ott of Canton; brother: Dennis Ott of Canton; sister: Judy Haas of Huron, OH; grandchildren: Madeline Ott, Jasmine Ott, Chase Fearn and Lainey Fearn.
He was preceded in death by his father: Dalton Ott and brother: John Ott. Mass of Christian burial will be Monday at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. Frank A. Carfagna as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to Stark County Hunger Task Force or Aultman Compassionate Care Center.
