Paul J. “Frog” Mirone 1928-2018

 

Age 90, died Wednesday following an extended illness. A life resident of Canton he was the son of the late Venanzio & Helen (DePasquale) Mirone and attended McKinley High School. He retired from Akro Corp, was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, enjoyed golfing, bowling and softball. He is survived by his wife: Lil (Caplea) Mirone; daughters: Sherry Lockmyer, Tina (Jack) Dukes; sisters: Christine Mirone, Geraldine Eberhart; grandson: Terrance Dukes; great-grandson: JayShaun Dukes; several nieces and nephews all of Canton. Also surviving are special friends: Paul Clapper and Dave Falasko. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law: Vincent and Sylvia Mirone; brother: Armando “Elmer” Mirone and nephew: Paul Eberhart. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian burial with Fr. John E. Sheridan as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Donations may be made in his name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital Research Hospital, 501 St. Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
