Stephen C. Kapelka,

age 55, of Lake Twp, died Sunday July 9, 2017 in Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Cleveland he had lived in the Stark County area since 1985. He had served in the National Guard, worked for many years at Fred Martin Superstore as the finance director and more recently at Camping World in North Canton as a sales associate. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, enjoyed his horses and belonged to several horse organizations including the A.Q.H.A., N.R.H.A. & N.O.Q.H.A. He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Katherine (Marshall) Kapelka of the home; brothers: Clark Kapelka, Benjamin (Amanda) Kapelka; sister: Catherine Kapelka; father Stephen R. (Debra) Kapelka; mother: Janelle (Bill) Schubmehl. Funeral services will be Friday at 3:00 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home with Fr. Edward L. Beneleit officiating. Friends may call Friday afternoon from 1:00 to 3:00 pm in the funeral home. Donations may be made in his name to the Stark County Humane Society or St. Peter Catholic Church.
