Alexander S. Reid

Age 96, died Tuesday September 2, 2025, following an extended illness. A life resident of Canton he was the son of the late James & Mary (Dozer) Reid. He was a graduate of Lehman High School, attended Ohio State University, served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. He retired from the Timken Company in 1992. He is survived by his sons: Robert Reid of Parma, Alexander (Elizabeth) Reid of Cary, NC; daughter, Mary Reid of the home; grandchildren: Keziah, Justice and Joshua. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Reid in 1978, brother, James Reid and sister Elizabeth Reid. A funeral service will be Monday at 10:00 am in the Wackerly Funeral Home with Deacon Michael T. Seaman as officiant. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
