Aurelia “Lil” Mirone
Canton, age 93, died Thursday following an extended illness. A life resident of Canton she was the daughter of the late John and Filitia (Caplea) Gherman. She was a 1946 graduate of Timken High School, retired in 1996 from Canton City Schools working as a hall monitor at McKinley High School and was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughters: Sherry Lockmyer, Tina (Jack) Dukes all of Canton; grandson: Terrance Dukes; great-grandson: JayShaun Dukes and his mother Mary Sharrard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Paul “Frog” Mirone; sisters: Helen Haiduc and Anna Popa. Mass of Christian burial will be Friday at 10:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church with the Very Reverend John E. Sheridan STL as celebrant. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 am in the Wackerly Funeral Home. A special thank you to Kathy O’leslie her caregiver for her care and compassion and the sacrifices she made to make “Lil” comfortable.
