Bonita L. “Bonnie” Nieschwitz, age 82, passed peacefully Tuesday April 22, 2025, following a sudden illness. She was surrounded by her family. A life resident of Canton, the daughter of the late Louis and Katheryn (Farnham) Weisbrod. She was a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School, and later a member of the Reunion Committee. A lifetime member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, Marriage Couple Sponsor with her husband, Paul, and remained active with church friends who she considered family. She also participated in Mercy Hospital Pastoral Care Ministry. She was devoted to her family, enjoyed sewing, crafts and making specialty items for her grandchildren all while rarely missing one of their events. She was proud of her community, was an avid gardener, a social butterfly, and a detailed storyteller. She is survived by her sons: Gregg (Machael John) Nieschwitz, Glenn (Monique Boudreau) Nieschwitz, Bruce (Linda) Nieschwitz; daughters: Julie (John) Vinci, Aimee (Joseph) Jadav; brother, Gary (Sandi) Weisbrod; sisters: Debbie (Dale Berger) Scali, Jannie Chisler, sister-in-law, Georgette Weisbrod; grandchildren: Melissa, Tamrah, Kaylah, Kevin, Stefan, Natalie, Jonah, Kristof, Hannah, Grace, William, Eva; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Nieschwitz, who died in 2014; brother, Philip Weisbrod and brother-in-law, David Chisler. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Fr. David M. Misbrener as celebrant with Deacon Michael Seaman. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home. Donations may be made in her name to St. Peter Catholic Church.
