David Ray Carper

David Ray Carper, died on May 9th, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.  Born March 23rd, 1942, in Spencer, West Virginia, he graduated from Marshall University receiving a degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He retired from the Goodyear R&D Technical Center after 40 years with various management positions, working in the OEM Automotive Industry.  He volunteered for the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeast Ohio, Hospice of Alliance in honor of his wife Jacquie.  He and Jacquie were married for 49 years until she died in 2016.  They enjoyed gardening and taking walks on the beach.  Together they have three children and six grandchildren. David later married Rose Ann, who he met through mutual friends.  They enjoyed bird watching, traveling, and playing cards with friends.  They celebrated seven and a half years together. Dave was a hugger, he loved life and all the people in his life.  He looked forward to his winters in Cape Canaveral and was a positive and encouraging influence to everyone he met.  He often provided comfort to those he encountered even throughout his illness.  He had an abiding faith in his Lord and Savior. He valued serving others and volunteered with various organizations including Stark Parks, The Boys Scouts, Quail Hollow Photography Club and Cape Canaveral Port Ministries. He is survived by his wife Rose Ann (Feicht) Carper, his three adult children, Dave Carper (Jodie), Leigh Ellen Gang (T.J.) and Matthew Carper.  His six grandchildren include Kayleigh, Tyler, Hannah, Olivia, Maisie and Theodore.  He is preceded in death by his wife Jacquie Carper, his father Molta Ray and mother Frances Marie.  He is further survived by his brother Noble Carper (Mary), sister Annette Carper, his sister-in-law Jane Smith (Ray) and many nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by Rose Ann’s two children, Vincent Warth (Denise) and Jo Ellen Warth and her 5 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Stark Parks or the Canaveral Port Ministry 8907 N. Atlantic Avenue, Cape Canaveral, FL 32920. Visitation will be held from 9:30am-11 at Trinity Baptist Church, 1211 East Maple Street, North Canton, Ohio 44720 on Saturday, May 24th with a funeral service at 11am.  The service will be officiated by Rev. Steve Cope. Burial for the family will take place in Amma Cemetery, Amma, WV.
