David P. Krantz
Age 79
David Paul Krantz, 79, of Massillon, passed away on September 25, 2021 due to complications with Lewy Body dementia. Dave was born in Massillon, Ohio to the late Harold and Pauline Krantz on April 28, 1942. He married his childhood sweetheart, Joan (King) Krantz on June 10, 1967. Dave was known for his skill as a financial wizard and analyst. After earning his MBA from the University of Dayton, he joined the Timken Company, where he worked as a financial analyst for decades. His career led him to be treasurer at Timken Research. Dave’s pursuits outside the office gave him great joy as well, such as leading Boy Scout activities. He also served the community with involvement in the Perry Rotary Club, Knights of Columbus and St. Michael’s the Archangel Catholic Church. Additionally, Dave loved monitoring stocks and investments. He generously donated his acumen to several investment clubs as president and treasurer. Many of his financial innovations, which ran counter to beliefs at the time, proved to be sound and prescient in the following decades. Dave is survived by his wife, Joan, and their children and spouses, Mark and Gina of Columbus, Ohio, Matt and Nancy of Los Angeles, Mary and Dan Neuenschwander of Kutztown, Pa. and Mike and Jen of Libertyville, Ill. And he had nine grandchildren: Maria, Julia, Marco, Leilani, David, Andrew, Eloise, Hannah and Mae. Dave is also survived by his sister Lynn Goll and her husband, Bob of Strongsville, Ohio. The family would like to thank Massillon Danbury Senior Living for being our home away from home. A celebration of Dave Krantz’s life will take place on Thursday, September 30, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s the Archangel Catholic Church in Canton. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the church that day at 11 am with Father Benson Okpara as celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Massillon.
