David T. “Heavy D” Lyon
Age 50, passed away Tuesday January 16, 2024 in Inverness, Florida following a brief illness. A life resident of Canton, he was a 1992 graduate of McKinley High School and was the founder and owner of Avenue to Independence. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Kelley) Lyon of the home; son Jeffery (Veronica) Lyon of Silver Springs Florida; daughters: Kellie Coss, Kaytlyn Lyon both of Canton; brothers, Patrick Lyon of Navarre, Jeffery Lyon of Canton; mother Barbara Lyon of Navarre; grandchildren: David, Franklin and Tamara. Funeral services will be Friday February 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the Wackerly Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Mayle officiating. Burial to follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening February 1, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Since “Heavy D” was an avid Ohio State fan, everybody is encouraged to wear their favorite Ohio State gear to all services. Donations may be made in his name to the J.
