Dorothy M. DiCola,
Age 78, of North Canton died Sunday following an extended illness. Born in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Mary (Davis) Miller. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School class of 1960, St. John School of Nursing in Cleveland, Walsh College, and Kent State University. Her nursing career consisted of working at both Timken Mercy Hospital and Aultman Hospital in Canton, and teaching health education at Stark State, Akron University, and Cleveland Community College. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in North Canton, Congress Lake Country Club, Lake Investment, and a former member of Oakwood Country Club. She is survived by her daughter: Michelle (Michael) Young; step-sons: David (Anne) DiCola, Rick (Louisa) DiCola; grandchildren: Castanza, Francesca, Carmella, Angelina, Ellie, Abby, Oliva, Benjamin, Christopher, Marie, Danny and Michael; sisters: Margaret Ann (Larry ) Tully, Carol (Steve) Risaliti; and many, MANY friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Lee DiCola who died in 2015, sons: Michael Bast, Matthew Bast, step-daughter: Cherie DiCola Grescovich, and sister Jean Wackerly. Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. John Keehner, Msgr. Jay Clarke, and Fr. Steve Zeigler as celebrants. Attendees are asked to remain in family groups and maintain social distance. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Paul Catholic Church, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, or your favorite charity. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
