Emerson W. Foltz,
Age 98, died Sunday September 8, 2024, from congestive heart failure. A life resident of Stark County he attended Jackson High School, served in the U.S. Army during WW II and retired from the East Ohio Gas Company. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in North Canton and the American Legion Canton Post #44. Emerson loved traveling, camping and the Indy 500 which he attended for 50 years. Most knew him as a Model T Ford enthusiast who loved nothing more than seeing the smile he put on faces by giving rides to anyone who showed an interest or chauffeuring a new bride and groom to their wedding! He is survived by his sons: Ronald (Nancy) Foltz, Brian (Janice) Foltz; daughter, Bonita Eberhart all of North Canton; brother, Raymond Foltz of North Canton; sister Ann (Richard) Gottsman of Jackson Twp.; grandchildren; Denise (Jesse) Lee, Brenda (Karl) Heil, Michelle (Craig) Taylor, Christopher (Katelyn) Foltz; great-grandchildren: Marissa Heil, Preston Lee, Logan Lee, Evan Heil, Maxwell Taylor, Edith Taylor and Addie Foltz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Foltz; daughter, Cheryl Caley; 4 brothers and 9 sisters. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday September 14, 2024 at 11:30 am in St. Paul Catholic Church in North Canton with Fr. Simon Mino as celebrant. Burial with Military Honors will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Saturday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 am in the church. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
