Passed away suddenly on Friday August 23. 2024. Born in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of the late Merle and Lois (Bender) Baumgardner and had lived in the Stark County area most of his life. He was a 1963 graduate of Louisville High School, The University of Akron and served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Suarez Company in 2012, was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and Little Flower Men’s Club. Gary is survived by his wife of 51 years: Nancy (Keller) Baumgardner of the home; son: Michael (Shelly) Baumgardner of Louisville; grandchildren: Carlee (Daniel) Lee, Mikey Baumgardner; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers: Michael Baumgardner, Harvey Baumgardner and Phil Baumgardner. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday September 3, 2024 at 11:00 am in Little Flower Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Finnerty as celebrant. Entombment with Military Honors will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call Tuesday morning from 10:30 to 11:00 am in the church. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
