Geraldine A. Joliat, age 81, passed away Sunday following a brief illness. A life resident of the Stark County area, she was the daughter of the late Ralph & Petronella (Valentine) Zengler. She was a 1961 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a member of Holy Family Catholic Parish in Navarre, where she volunteered for many years. She was a devout Catholic and prayed the rosary daily. She was treasured by her entire family and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her sons: Denis Joliat of Navarre, Thomas Joliat of Missoula, MT; daughters: Stephanie (Douglas) Henderson of Dayton, Amy Anderson of Massillon, Julie (Don) Aman of Canton, Erica (Michael) Soehnlen of Dalton, Mary (Jeffrey) Tyler of Canton, Kelly (Kyle) Green of Canton; sister, Peggy Fischio of New Philadelphia; brother-in-law, Larry Wendell of Canton; grandchildren: Claire (Connor) Hann, Allison Henderson, Elizabeth (Alistair) Beebe, Tess (Spencer) Vyain, Olivia Anderson, Mitchell (Emma) Aman, Sarah Aman, Megan (Thomas) Genetin, Leo (Macey) Soehnlen, Molly Soehnlen, Adam Soehnlen, Jason Soehnlen, Audrey Soehnlen, Emily (Zachary) McPherson, Nathan Tyler, Luke Tyler, Ella Tyler, Pete Tyler, Michael (Caitlin) Breitmeier, Roscoe Breitmeier, Henry Breitmeier and Erica Schreffler, Seth Green, Justin Green, William Green; great-granddaughter, Willow Breitmeier and two great-granddaughters on the way. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Joliat in 2010; brothers: Denis Zengler, Thomas Zengler, William Zengler, Harold Zengler; sisters: Ruth Reibenstein and Judy Wendell. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Parish in St. Clement Church with Fr. Fredrick Schlueter as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Clement’s Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home.
