Helen M. Mitchell

Age 90, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, died Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Mercy Cleveland Clinic, following a brief illness. Born in Canton, January 30, 1936, to the late Joseph and Magdalena (Bzoski) Dambrowski. She had lived in the Canton area most of her life, graduating from Timken Vocational School and retiring from Petrocon Oil Company in 2012 after more than 40 years of dedicated service, before moving to Beloit 34 years ago. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Sebring and a former member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Canton. She loved her family deeply and is survived by her daughters, Diane (Tom) Kayatin and Lee-Ann (Robert) DeMeo; grandchildren, Kayla (Matthew) Beskitt, Isabella (Jared) White, and Antonio (Margot) DeMeo; and great-grandchildren, Brodie and Peyton. 

She is now reunited with the love of her life, Lee Mitchell; her brothers, John, Joseph, Walter, and Edward Dambrowski; and her sister, Mary Najmola. At 90, Helen remained sharp as a tack - she loved word searches, reading the newspaper, remembering birthdays, and singing to those she loved. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: coffee and cookies, views of Westville Lake, chatting with friends and family, scratching lottery tickets, and watching Hallmark. A part of her will always live on through every life she touched. A private memorial service for family and close friends will be held at Wackerly Funeral Home on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, with Father Brian Smith officiating.
