Loving Memory of Helen “Heidi” Mary Sellers (Laubacher)

March 5, 1955 – August 13, 2024

On August 13, 2024, at the age of 69, Helen “Heidi” Mary Sellers peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and joy that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Born on March 5, 1955, in Canton, Ohio, Heidi was the fourth of 12 children born to Chuck and Inez Laubacher (McDowell). Growing up in a close-knit, loving family, Heidi’s life was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith. She carried this faith with her throughout her life, building a home centered on God’s love when she married the love of her life, Brad Sellers, in 1975. Their marriage of 49 years was a testament to the power of faith, devotion, and sacrificial love as they raised their ten children: Eileen Clugston (Kevin), Nick Sellers (Carrie), Annie Kindbom (Kevin), Maria Papay (Ben), Mark Sellers, Elizabeth Engelhardt (Tyler), Andrew Sellers (Aricka), Doug Sellers (Paula), Kevin Sellers (Angela), and Joy Murray (Nick). Over the years, her family expanded to include 28 grandchildren. Her greatest joy was being a mother and grandmother, and her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love, making it a haven for her family. She found immense joy in the simple moments, like gathering her children and grandchildren around her, sharing stories, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her happiness was contagious, and her laughter could light up any room. Despite the challenges of Alzheimer’s, Heidi faced her illness with grace and courage, supported by her devoted husband. Her family was heartbroken to see her memory fade, but they remained steadfast in their love and care for her, just as she had always been for them. Even in the face of this disease, Heidi’s spirit remained strong. Heidi’s life was a true blessing to all who knew her. Her faith guided her, her love sustained her family, and her joy uplifted everyone around her. Her memory will be forever cherished, and the lessons she taught about love, faith, and gratitude will continue to inspire her family for generations to come. Callings hours will be Sunday, August 18th from 1pm to 4pm at Wackerly Funeral Home, Canton. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 19th at 11 AM, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Canton with Fr. Scott Kopp as celebrant. Burial will follow in Sandy Valley Cemetery. Heidi is survived by her loving siblings Susan Gann (Bill), Vivian Kiraly, Terry Gaeth (Randy), K.C. Laubacher (Laura), Anthony Laubacher (Joanne), Ann Poeske (Dane), Rick Laubacher (Lisa), Don Laubacher (Cheryl), Joe Laubacher (Karen), Ed Laubacher (Meg), and Jane Cooley (T.J.). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Hennis Care Centre of Bolivar where she received exceptional care over the last five years. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the center’s staff for their dedication and compassion.
