Jack V Barnes

Jack V. Barnes, age 80, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025. He was born October 10, 1944, in Akron, Ohio. Jack was a proud Army Veteran and served his country in Vietnam. Jack retired from the Hoover Company after over 34 years of service. And was also a former sergeant for the Canal Fulton police department. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 44 and was selected as Stark County Veteran of the Year in 2017. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Richard & Alma Beal, and Jack & Delma Barnes; his son, Jack S. Barnes; brothers, Barry Barnes, Dave Falls, and Richard Beal. He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn Barnes; daughter, Audra (Michael) Boone; his six grandchildren, Toby, Dylan, Breonna, Brandon, Brandi, and Jocelyn; brother, Don (Kim) Beal; sisters, Brenda Radmacher and Bonnie Barnes. Jack cherished his faithful dogs, Gracie and Angel, who were constant companions. The family would like to thank the physicians and staff at Aultman’s SICU for their care and comfort. A service will be held on Tuesday July 1, 2025 at 9:45 am with Military Honors in the Shelter at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, OH. Friends may call Monday afternoon from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Akron Children's Hospital.
