James H. Cook, of Massillon Ohio, passed away on June 18,2023 after a
six month brave fight with cancer and dementia. He was born on
May 21,1940 in Barnesville, Ohio, to George Cook and Helen Cook. Jim
recently celebrated his 83rd birthday at the Laurels of Massillon and
enjoyed the company of family and friends. He is survived by his
siblings Bill and Tom Cook and sister Judy Hannum. He graduated from
Massillon Washington High School in 1958. He played football for the
Massillon Tigers in 1955, 1956 and 1957 and stayed a true Tiger at heart
all these years. Jim loved going to Canada fishing with his dad and
brothers. Jim worked at the Hoover Company in North Canton for 43 years.
He retired from the Hoover Company as Labor Relations Director. The
family would like to thank the staff and care givers at the Laurels in
Massillon for all their hard work and kindness directed toward Jim.

Association” Room H-214 One Paul Brown Drive SE Massillon, Ohio 44646.
Per Jim’s wishes there will be no services and burial will take place in
Barnesville South Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio.
