Janet L. Korey

Age 82, died Thursday May 26, 2022 in Littleton, CO while living there the past eight months. Born and living most of her life in Canton she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Binger) Kohler, was a 1956 graduate of Lincoln High School and retired from Zion Lutheran Church in Canton as church secretary in 2004. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where she served as a lector, participated in a number of community services, enjoyed traveling and the fine arts. She is survived by her daughters: Jennifer (Brian) Tiell of Littleton, CO, Kristine (Gerald) Smith, of Maui HI, Susan (Jeff) Hirko of Jackson Township; grandchildren: Rebecca (Matt) Krekeler, Abbey (Josh) Collins, Emma Tiell, Chloe Tiell, Korey Tiell, Ava Tiell, Ellen Hirko, Braden Hirko; great-grandchildren: Caley Krekeler, Nora Krekeler and sister-in-law: Sandy Kohler of Louisville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband: Frank Korey who died in 1983; brother: Dale Kohler; sister: Gwen Coffey; brothers-in-law: Jack Coffey, Vince Korey and Fred Korey. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Simon Mino as celebrant. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home.
