JoAnne Weber Obituary

JOANNE M. WEBER

JoAnne M. Weber, age 96, of Canton, Ohio passed away on February 28, 2026 with family by her side.  JoAnne was the daughter of the late Irvin and Esther Piero and a 1948 graduate of Mount Marie Academy.

On September 15, 1951 she married the boy next door, Harold “Ozzie” Weber, and together they built a beautiful life and unwavering partnership for 50 years until his death on July 22, 2002. JoAnne worked as an operator at Ohio Bell, retiring after many years of loyal and dedicated service. JoAnne was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and later Guardian Angels Parish at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and a member of the Ohio Bell Pioneers where she enthusiastically served in numerous leadership positions.

JoAnne had a deep and abiding love for travel, always eager to explore new places and create lasting memories.  Among her most treasured destinations was the beautiful Florida Keys, especially Marathon, where she enjoyed the simple pleasures of ocean breezes, salt air, fishing and basking in the sunshine with her toes in the sand.  An avid University of Notre Dame fan, no matter whether she was cheering in the shadow of Notre Dame stadium or from the comfort of home, she stood faithful to the blue and gold.

Preceded in death by her husband, Ozzie, parents, brothers Thomas I. Piero and David J. Piero Sr., sister, Margaret “Peggy” Wallace and nephews Michael I. Piero and Thomas P. Piero, JoAnne is survived by her brother, Robert C. Piero of Lakeland Florida and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grandnieces and grandnephews.  A private service was held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Friday March 6. 2026 with Father Kevin Peters officiating. Entombment occurred at Calvary Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church.
