Joseph L. Karam, age 83, passed-away on July 24, 2025 following a courageous battle with cancer. Joe was born on September 7, 1941, the son of Fred and Bernice Karam. He was a 1959 graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Maddrell, in December of 1960. Joe was a businessman and most recently retired from Ventura Manufacturing, a business he formed and operated for 40 years. He and Pat enjoyed boating at Lake Erie for 30 years. Joe had many hobbies including skeet-shooting at Sportsmen’s Gun Club for over 60 years, where he was a Double-A shooter, winning many trophies over the years. He loved rides on his motorcycle and drives in his vintage Pontiac GTO. He is survived by his wife Pat, with whom he would have celebrated 65 years of marriage in December. He was the proud father of Kathy (Chris) Rothwell, Jim (Vicki) Karam, and Kris (Pete) Botti. He was a Grandfather to Taylor (Dan), Ally, Allison, Brian, and Samantha; and Great-Grandfather to Maelyn, Sutton and Cade. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church with the Very Reverend David M. Misbrener as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Wackerly Funeral Home. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Mercy Hospice for their care and compassion over these past weeks.
