Mrs. Josephine DiBattista, age 88, entered eternal rest on June 22nd, 2022. Born in Canton, OH to Joseph and Anna (Fabian) Grubish. Before his passing at the age of 83, Jo was married to Nicholas DiBattista for 60 years. Jo leaves behind 3 beloved children: Cindy Martin (John Martin), Scott DiBattista (Melosina DiBattista), and Patrick DiBattista (Alfredo Gomez). She also leaves behind her beloved 5 grandchildren: Robert DiBattista (Sarah DiBattista), Jessica Bennett (Jeremy Bennett), John DiBattista (Sarah DiBattista), Samantha Koontz (Jeremy Koontz), Elizabeth Martin. She also leaves behind 7 beloved great grandchildren: KC Winter, Bricen & Aaron DiBattista, Lily and Adam Koontz, and Josephine & John Bradley Bennett, and 2 great great-grandchildren: Sophia and Gianna DiBattista. Jo was one of 8 siblings, 4 of which proceed her in death: Rose McElroy, Al Grubish, Mary Menseses, and John Grubish. She is survived by her brothers Jim, Bill, and Donald Grubish. Jo was proud to be a school teacher, and took her calling to teaching very seriously. Outside of the classroom she taught us all the importance of love, acceptance, patience, kindness, and understanding. Through her life she enjoyed travel, reading, and consistently fostered her creativity through painting, drawing, sewing, and card-making. Jo was a devout Catholic being a member of Christ the Servant Catholic Parish and authentically lived out her faith daily even until her final days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ the Servant Church on Tuesday, June 28 at 11am with Msgr. Lewis F. Gaetano as celebrant. Jo will be entombed in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum next to her husband, Nick. Friends may call Tuesday morning at 10am at the Church. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
