Kathleen (“Kathy”) O. Tatarsky passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio. She is survived by her daughter Sarah Tatarsky, siblings Mary Ozak (Mark), Laura Ozak (Jerry), Peter Ozak (Debbi), niece Katherine Barsaloux, nephews William Barsaloux and Jake Van Meter. Kathy’s parents, Katie & Ed Ozak, and her sister, Susan Ozak, preceded her in death. Kathy is also survived by her many unique and loyal friends, with whom she enjoyed many happy times and adventures! Kathy was raised in Detroit, Michigan and attended Wayne State University. She received her law degree from Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 1979. She was certified by the Ohio Bar as a specialist in Appellate Law. She had a very fulfilling law career in Stark County, including the Legal Aid Society, City of Canton, Stark County Prosecutor’s Office, private practice, and Court Attorney for the Honorable George W. Wise (ret’d) with the Ohio Court of Appeals, Fifth Appellate District. Kathy loved traveling, hiking, reading, and volunteer work. She will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, humility, and kindness. Calling hours Thursday, June 26, 2025 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. at Wackerly Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers instead please make a donation to any non-profit animal rescue, any of her favorite charities, or plant a tree at the Wilderness Center in Wilmot, Ohio.
