Leo A. Russo,
Age 83, passed away April 11, 2023 in Houston, TX. He was born in Canton, OH on October 7, 1939 to the late Anthony & Adeline Russo. He graduated from Timken High School and served in the U.S. Army stationed in Korea. He lived most of his adult life in Los Angeles, CA and Houston TX. Leo was employed as a Tool & Die Specialist at the Timken Company in Canton and also at Lockheed Martin Aircraft in Los Angeles. He enjoyed traveling and had been to 48 states, also his interest in sketching and painting became a life long hobby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Russo; sister, Faith (Larry) Wackerly; former wife, Madeline (Hawk) Russo, infant son, Leo and nephew, Dr. Gabriel Russo. He is survived by brothers, Tony (Esther) Russo; sisters, Mary (John) Gabl, Angela (Michael) Chapanar; several nieces, nephews and many other relatives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 am in St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Benson Opkara as celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Leo’s visits to his family in Canton were always very special to them. Even though there were many miles between them, Leo was dearly loved and will be sadly missed: His wings were ready but our hearts were not. Sleep in heavenly peace.
