Mary J DiBattista
Age 91, of North Canton died Thursday April 22, 2021 following a brief illness. A life resident of the Canton/ North Canton area she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo & Bambina (Fantini) DiBattista. She was a 1947 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School. Mary worked at Meyers Lake as a young girl selling tickets for “The Bug”. She later worked for 19 years at the West Tusc Fruit and Vegetable Market subsequently retiring from the Hoover Company after 30 years of service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Anthony DiBattista; sisters: Lena Kelp, Dorothy Lindsey Mossor and Adolia Sirgo. Mary is survived by her sister: Rose Marchand of North Canton and three generations of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and was so very proud of each one of them.
Mary spent her last few years at Whitewood Village where she continued to extend her kind ways to so many. While there, she made many new friends with the residents and staff members. Mary enjoyed Bingo and always looked forward to treating the younger staff members with her snack prizes. Her love of books kept her busy daily and she so enjoyed watching her Indians baseball.
Mary never met a stranger, even until the very end. Her approach to life was her common saying, “It’ll work out.” Simple words that we can all live by…
