Michael P. Pettit,

Age 70 passed away Sunday January 25, 2026, following a brief illness. A life resident of Canton he was the son of the late, Samuel & Christina (Cotely) Pettit. He was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Kent State University. He was an elementary school teacher retiring from the Carrollton Expempted Village School District working at Augusta Grade School, he also worked part time for many years at Crystal Park Hardware in Canton. Michael is survived by his brothers, David (Linda) Pettit of Burbank, OH. and Samuel Pettit of Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 am in the Basilica of St. John the Baptist with the Very Reverend Dr. David M. Misbrener, D. Min as celebrant. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon from 2 to 4 pm at the Wackerly Funeral Home.
