Patricia E DiCola
It is with great sadness that I say our sister, Patty, passed away very unexpectedly on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 2:55 PM at St Luke’s Lutheran Home in North Canton. We are in complete shock. Our only solace is that she is now with our Lord who she loved so much. Patty was born May 20, 1943 to Victor and Josephine DiCola and graduated from Central Catholic High School. She read her devotionals every morning and evening and enjoyed her puzzle books. And boy did she love her crafts! She loved to do sequin art and won a blue ribbon for one of her creations. In fact she just won first place in the Christmas door decorating contest. For the last two years she had been working on an embroidered Christmas tree skirt that I asked her to make for me. It is beautiful. When we spoke the morning of her death, she told me that only a couple of more weeks to go and it would be done! Her last box of crafts was delivered to her room the day of her death. She didn’t even get to open it. Patty did not have an easy life. But I know she is now enjoying her heavenly reward that she so deserved. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Fran DiCola, brother and sister-in-law, Lee & Dorothy DiCola, brother-in-law, Skip Shaw, niece, Cherie Grescovich and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Survived by two brothers, Jim (Jo) DiCola of Port St Lucie, FL, Vic (Ceal) DiCola of North Canton, sister, Maryanne Shaw of Hartville and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist, 627 McKinley Ave NW, Canton, OH 44703 with the Very Reverend John E. Sheridan STL as celebrant. Calling hours Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM at Wackerly Funeral Home, 1375 Market Ave N, Canton, OH 44714. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Patty’s name to the Basilica of St John the Baptist Catholic Church. Personal condolences are invited on line at: www.wackerlyfuneralhome.com
