Paul J. “Frog” Mirone 1928-2018

Age 90, died Wednesday following an extended illness. A life resident of Canton he was the son of the late Venanzio & Helen (DePasquale) Mirone and attended McKinley High School. He retired from Akro Corp, was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, enjoyed golfing, bowling and softball. He is survived by his wife: Lil (Caplea) Mirone; daughters: Sherry Lockmyer, Tina (Jack) Dukes; sisters: Christine Mirone, Geraldine Eberhart; grandson: Terrance Dukes; great-grandson: JayShaun Dukes; several nieces and nephews all of Canton. Also surviving are special friends: Paul Clapper and Dave Falasko. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law: Vincent and Sylvia Mirone; brother: Armando “Elmer” Mirone and nephew: Paul Eberhart. Family and friends will meet Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian burial with Fr. John E. Sheridan as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
