Obituary

Philip J. Zeren

Age 69, of Canton died Sunday evening following a brief illness. Born in Canton he was the son of the late William and Genevieve (Irish) Zeren. He was a graduate of McKinley High School, served in the U.S. Navy, retired from St. Peter Catholic Church as a custodian and was also a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He is survived by his sons: William (Michelle) Zeren of Garner, NC, John (Amanda) Zeren of Raleigh, NC; daughter: Julie (Adam) Brenneis of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren: Anthony, Benjamin, Henry, Arianna, Genevieve, Quinton, Adelyn and Elena. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Mark Zeren. Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday June 20, 2023 at 11:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church with Msgr. James A. Clarke as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am in the Wackerly Funeral Home.
