Phyllis M. Przybyla (Maternowski), loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024. Phyllis is survived by her devoted daughters Janet Przybyla, Karen Calabrese and Evelyn (Rick) Stortz, her beloved grandchildren Jessica Almond, Alexander Boccolucci, Dru Enzo, Anthony Calabrese and Katelyn Calabrese, and her adorable great-grandson, Damien Tester. Phyllis was preceded in death by sons Michael Przybyla and Stephen Przybyla, and grandson Justin Boccolucci.
Phyllis was a brave, strong and intelligent woman with a quick sense of humor. Throughout her entire life, Phyllis had a passion for creating beautiful things, setting gorgeous tablescapes at the holidays, sewing clothes for herself and her children, and excelling at every craft imaginable. After retiring, Phyllis began focusing on papercrafts, and alternately credited and blamed her daughter, Evelyn, for introducing her to scrapbooking. Phyllis loved the idea that receiving one of her beautiful handcrafted cards could put a smile on someone's face.
A private funeral service for the family will be held in the Wackerly Funeral Home with Fr, Patrick J. Manning officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider sending a "Thinking of You" card to someone who needs a smile. Donations may also be made to the Canton Woman's Club to honor Phyllis with a legacy brick.
