Richard D. Baysinger
Age 84 passed away Thursday May 7, 2026, following a long illness. Born in Clifton, CO, he moved to Canton after meeting his wife, Karen. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, retired from J & L Steel 1999 and following retirement enjoyed working at Mercy Medical Center as a bus driver. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, American Legion Canton Post #44, Canton FOE Post 538 and was an avid golfer. Dick is survived by his wife, Karen (Cusack) Baysinger of the home; daughters: Kristen (Mattia) Campagnano of Akron, Holly (Mark) Clapsaddle of Canton, Beth Ann (Joe Cain) Baysinger of Canton; brothers: Ron (Rose) Baysinger of Washington State, Terry (Carla) Baysinger of Washington State, Tim (Jewell) Baysinger of Colorado; sisters: Elonie DeCristofaro, Doretta “Dee” Flores, his twin sister Margaret Gerard all of Washington State; grandchildren: Mark (Avena) Baysinger, Megan Wilson, Karsen Clapsaddle; great-grandchildren: Kylie, Kameron, Preston, Karlynn, and Kinslee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl & Ella Basysinger, brothers: Robert Baysinger, Donald Baysinger; sisters: Sharon Odell, Oma Ostenson, Rhonda Peasner and grandson Nathan Katusin. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Smith as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Friends may call Monday afternoon from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Wackerly Funeral Home.
