Richard Edward Conley, age 66, of Louisville Ohio returned to the Lord September 22, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19. “Rick” was born and raised in Canton, Ohio and graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School. A parent, foster-parent, and animal-lover he spent much of his life caring for others. He enjoyed history, photography, motorcycles, Steelers games and a good barbeque. He was also never one to pass on a Harrison Ford or Jim Varney film.
When his son Richard W. was diagnosed deaf, Rick educated himself on audiology and while he had many careers throughout his life, he spent the better part of thirty-plus years helping people to hear as a hearing-aid consultant.
Rick was a member of New Baltimore Community Church, Rotary of Canton, and has been a member of many organizations throughout his life including Boy Scouts and Indian Guides.
Rick was preceded in death by his father Walter. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Catherine; his mother, Kathryn (Joe) Conley-Snuggs; and his brother, Michael (Susan) Conley. Rick had 7 children, Edward Gallagher, Richard W. (Shilpa) Conley, Nicholas (Jessica) Conley, Stacy Hocker, Anne (James) Whitsel, Steven Conley and Christa Conley. Rick is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Cece, Jaxton, Layla, Dean, Justis, Ishaan, Jeremiah and Ishika; and his nieces and nephew, Meredith Conley, Harrison Conley and Stephanie Conley.
Due to COVID-19, a Memorial Mass will be held at a later date for family and friends. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Personal condolences are invited on line at: www.wackerlyfuneralhome.com
