Richard H. “Ish” Louis Jr.
Age 74, died Sunday June 15, 2025, following a brief illness. Born in Canton he was the son of the late Richard and Mona (Roe) Louis. He was a 1969 graduate of Lincoln High School, retired from United Foundries in Canton and Giant Eagle at Washinton Square, was a Karate instructor and received a black belt from S.H. Kim in 1984. He was a member of Canton Post #124 Amvets, the Slovak Home Club of Canton, enjoyed traveling, music and playing the guitar. Ish is survived by his sons: Steven (Nari) Louis of Nashville, TN, Barry Allison of Mobile, AL; daughters: Michelle (Brian) Polis of Avon, OH, Rachel (Nathan) Dilley of Lancaster, OH; brother, Ronald (Jan) Louis of Norton, OH; sister, Mona Kneuess, step-brothers: Robert Dormaier, Brian Dormaier all of Mansfield, OH; grandchildren: Savannah, Elise, Amelia, Leonardo; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Germaine Louis who died in 2007; brother, William Louis and his K-9 best friend, Abbey. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 am in the Wackerly Funeral Home with Deacon Michael T. Seaman officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
