Ronald Jay Leeders,

Age 89 died Monday January 5, 2026, following an extended illness. A lifelong Stark County resident, he was the son of the late, Harold & Evelyn (Manley) Leeders, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War and retired from Park Farms as Operations Manager. His memberships include, Little Flower Catholic Church, American Legion Canton Post #44, the Canton Eagles Aerie 141, Stark County 4H and was a former member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Canton where he was active with the St. Paul’s School Boy Scout Troup #21. Ron enjoyed volunteering for the Red Cross, Aultman Hospital and Mercy Medical Center and served as a Eucharistic Minister at both hospitals. He is survived by his son, Ronald (Billie Thompson) Leeders of Louisville; daughters: Brenda (Donald) Wise of Hartville, Mary Jane (Ronnie) Wilson of Massillon; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Kerber) Leeders; son; Martin Leeders; daughter, Mary Ann Leeders; brothers: Richard Leeders, Raymond Leeders and Wayne Leeders. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 12 noon in Little Flower Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas G. Bishop as celebrant. Entombment with Military Honors will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. The family would like to give a special thanks to Crossroads Hospice, Visiting Angels and two special aids, Linda and Yvette for the compassionate care that he received.
