It is with the utmost sadness that the family of Ronald A. Milford, age 73, announce that they lost their hero to an unexpected cardiac arrest. Ron was held by his children and heard words of deep gratitude as he entered Heaven. Ron was a man of faith who believed in being a servant to others. Anyone who knew Ron, loved Ron, and would describe him as a man who was a provider, a protector, and a genuinely good man to his core. There was never a moment of his children’s life that they didn’t know he was proud of them and how much he loved them.

Ron was a deeply devoted father to his son: Michael (Kortney) Milford of North Canton and daughter: Trisha Nguyen of Concord, NC. He adored his grandchildren: Sam Nguyen, Spencer Nguyen, Maci Milford and Owen Milford. He was the son of the late Howard and Ida (Walmsley) Milford and was preceded in death by his sister: Sharon Iser.

It was important to Ron to live a healthy life in many ways including serving as a mentor for others during his 33 years of continuous sobriety through his commitment to Alcoholics Anonymous. Ron served bravely in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War earning a Purple Heart Award, a Bronze Star and two Air Medal Awards. He retired from the Hoover Company and the Plain Local School District, and was an active member of Dueber United Methodist Church where he was serving as a trustee. 

Ron was the kindest of souls and was adored by everyone who knew him. Join us to celebrate his life during his Funeral Services Tuesday (6/1) at 11:30am in the Wackerly Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathon George officiating. His Military Burial will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, OH. Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9:30am to 11:30am in the Wackerly Funeral Home.
