Rose Mary Hardie, 83, of Stark County passed away May 1, 2024 following a brief illness. She was born in Canton, Ohio on June 7, 1940 to the late Nicola and Madeline (Martia) Long. Rose was an active member of Little Flower Catholic Church and enjoyed serving on the Little Flower Altar Rosary Society and the reunion committee of Timken Vocational High School, Class of 1958. Rose will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. She would drop everything to help someone in need and provided advice anchored in her Catholic faith. She valued family and God above all else, took delight in her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and cherished her card club girlfriends of over 60 years. Her Italian heritage ran deep with tradition and has been passed down to generations after her. Her innocent sense of humor will always be remembered, and her nurturing personality will live in the hearts of those she loved. Rose is survived by her daughter Linda (Jeff) Modock of Middleburg Heights and her sons: Michael (Diane) Hardie of North Canton, Timothy (Jill) Hardie of North Canton, Thomas (Beth) Hardie of Canton, and William Hardie III of North Canton; her grandchildren: Eric, Jordan (Ashley), Hayley, Nathan (Julia), Sarah, Kate, Jack, Ryan (Amber), Zach (Ciara), and Samuel; great-grandchildren: Madison and Rowan; and special cousin, Ginny (Bill) Buell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hardie Jr. who died in 2020, and brother, Michael Long. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 8, 11:00 am at Little Flower Catholic Church, 2040 Diamond St NE, Canton, Ohio 44721 with Fr. Patrick J. Manning as celebrant.. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours are at the church Saturday, June 8, 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Memorial donations may be made to the Little Flower Altar Rosary Society.
