Ruth E. Chipko,

Age 99, died Friday October 21, 2022 at home following a brief illness. Born in Fulda, Ohio she had lived in Canton most of her adult life. She retired from Gateway Transportation, was a member of St. Mary/St. Benedict Catholic Parish and St. Benedict’s Altar Rosary Society. For many years enjoyed volunteering at the St. John’s Samaritan Table, loved quilting, baking pies and was an avid card player. She is survived by her son: John (Sharon) Chipko of Cleveland; daughters: Marilyn Fryman of Willard, Ohio, Bernadette Corbett of Omaha, NE. Marlene Chipko of Canton; grandchildren: Eric, Rachel (George) Inman, Melanie (Todd) Schuler, Carl (Cassaundra) Fryman, Matthew (Jen) Fryman, Chris (Tina) Corbett and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by some special friends who brightened her life just like family. She was preceded in death by her husband: Emil Chipko who died in 1989; daughter: Kathleen Chipko who died in 2014; brothers: Rueben Miller, Ellis Miller; sister: Betty Roskos; sons-in-law: James Fryman and Michael Corbett. Family was the most important thing to Ruth and she was never happier than when she was spending time with her loved ones. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Benedict Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas A. Bishop as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the church.
