Sanford Simmons Jr.,

Better known as “Sam,” passed away at the age of 69, Thursday, August 24, 2023 in Canton, OH. He was born and raised in Alliance, OH and later returned there to reside. He was the son of the late Sanford and Carrie (Minor) Simmons Sr. He loved watching basketball and also played at Alliance High School, where he graduated. Sam enjoyed going to the Alliance Elks as well as fishing. He is survived by his daughters: Tamika Massey of Columbus and Ericka Simmons of Canton; sisters: Janet Terrell of Alliance, Jean Ann Simmons of Alliance, Connie Simmons of Canton, and Brenda Simmons of Canton; nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Allen Simmons and Stepmother, Johnnie Mae Simmons. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
