On Sunday July 14, 2024, Stanley J. Stromsky, Age 78, went to his heavenly home following a brief illness. Born in Bellaire, Ohio he had lived in Canton for most of his life before moving to Florida and then returning to the Canton area in 2003. He was a 1963 graduate of Timken Vocational High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He dedicated his life to serving his community working as a professional fireman for the Canton and Cape Coral Florida Fire Departments. He was a faithful member of North Canton St. Paul Catholic Church, North Canton Council #3777, Knights of Columbus and Msgr. Graham Assembly #828, 4th degree. Stan is survived by his wife, Diana (Gray) Stromsky of the home; sons: Ronald A. Stromsky, Stephen J. Stromsky, both of Canton; grandchildren: Kouryn Stromsky and Cody Stromsky (Olivia Smyser); brother: Chet Stromsky; Sister in-law: Carol (Girsez) Gray; nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and firefighter brothers and sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents: Stan and Virgina Stromsky; in-laws: John and Norma Gray, Carol Stromsky, Donald Gray, Ronald Gray, Judy Kauffman; many aunts and uncles; cousins; and his beloved sidekick Max. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care, House of Loreto Rosary Fund, North Canton St. Pauls Catholic Church Memory Tree, Sancta Clara Monastery, Catholic Charities, or do a charity of your choice; especially a charity supporting a child. Or simply reaching out to someone in need. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 pm in St. Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Zwilling as celebrant and Msgr. Jay Clarke and Fr. Tom Dyer as concelebrants.. A Canton Fire Department Last Alarm service will take place Tuesday at 2:00 pm in the church.
