Thomas A. Gartner
Tom Gartner, age 94, died Thursday, November 23, 2023, following an extended illness. Born in Canton, he was the son of the late Raymond & Ida (Dieringer) Gartner. He was a graduate of McKinley High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war. Tom retired from the Timken Steel Company and was a long-time member of Our Lady of Peace/Christ the Servant Catholic Church. He is survived by his sister, Alice, and her husband James McCarthy of Monument Colorado; nephews: David Jackson, Michael McCarthy; nieces: Kathleen Holland, Sue Majzun and Ann Keen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Jackson; brothers: Raymond Gardner, Dr. John Gartner and nephew, Mark McCarthy. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, December 5th, at 11:00 am in Christ the Servant Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Lang as celebrant. Following the service, burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
