Wilma Rose (Barnett) Bannevich
Age 85, of Canton passed away peacefully on December 24, 2020.
She was born September 14, 1935 in Belmont County Ohio.
Her family, especially her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy,
She found great pleasure in nurturing, cooking, and in general doing for others.
In Wilma’s own words: “I was blessed with 6 wonderful sons, (who were all my favorites)
4 daughters-in-law, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.”
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents Rose Dimattia and Hiram Barnett as well as
sisters, JoAnn Cammel and Gloria Meyer.
Wilma is survived by her husband Jim Bannevich, Sons: Larry (Diane) Mizer, Gregory (Terri) Mizer, John Mizer, Jeff Mizer, Michael (Debbie) Mizer, Jason (Gina) Bannevich. Grandchildren:
Andrew, Zachary, Matthew, Adam, Amber, Antonio and Angelo Mizer, Jeffrey and Jasmina Nasteff, Dominick and Giavonna Bannevich, Lydia and James Dunnivan, as well as 11 great
grandchildren. Wilma is also survived by brother Hiram (Sonny) Barnett, sister Almira Prysock, sister-in-law (and casino partners) Lenora (Ivan) Vodopich, brother-in-law Phil Bannevich as
well as many special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will have a private service for Wilma. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Golden Key Center for Exceptional Children. The Wackerly Funeral Home is in charge of
