I knew Mike through the Red Cross bloodmobiles held at the Fremont Rec. Center. Mike was in charge of the bloodmobiles and a faithful blood donor. Several of us bloodmobile volunteers were so fond of Mike that we baked cookies for his bloodmobiles. I had the honorer to be with him at a Toledo function when he received an award for his leadership in the bloodmobiles at the Rec. Center. As parents and as a family, you raised a special man who respected all people. We will miss Mike and are very sad for your loss as a family.

Our heartfelt sympathy and many prayers. We've known Mike since he first came to Fremont. He has been a friend, mentor, boss and coach for our children and friend to us. We always stopped at the Rec when we visited back to Ohio...had to see Mike. He always teased us and had a hug for us..........His passing is a shock and sadness covers us but our loss is Heaven's gain and he is making all smile there. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."......may you find that comfort.

I have known mike as long as he has been in Fremont and he was always friendly, kind and caring to everyone. We have been blessed to have known such a great guy. Sad day for all.

Whenever Wanda or I would be at the rec center we would stop by his office to see if Mike were there. He always had a smile and a friendly hello. He met our youngest son when Jay was a senior and like many, many others he and Jay became friends. Whenever we would see Mike he would ask how we were doing and then follow up with a, "how's Jay doing?" Mike cared and it showed. He never talked much about himself and what he was doing, it was always about you and your family. He will be missed terribly by the community he served. People like Mike are special and rare and his life was way too short. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.

I was sorry to hear of Michael's passing. As difficult a loss as this is for all of us, our faith assures us that there is only LIFE. Life here on earth, and life eternal. Death is a blip on the screen as we pass from life to life. May our Lord hold all of you close to Him during these difficult days, as He most certainly is holding Michael at this moment.

Mike was a great friend and compassionate sports official. His love of the sport-be it football/softball/basketball etc-showed thorough in his dealings with the athletes. He treated all with respect. He was very considerate with the Special Olympics athletes-explaining his call when questioned and encouraging them in their quest to do their best. Mike could be seen at most basketball games played at the School of Hope as well at Area play-offs in BG/Van Buren and state play-offs in BG. Our prayers go out to his family-he will be missed so much!!!

Mike is an inspiration to us all in Fremont and at Sandusky County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Sandusky County Special Olympics. It is an honor to have his dedication and fun loving personality and to be involved so many of the Olmypic events he advised and officiated . We always counted on Mike to help us have the best sport and activity seasons for those we served. He will be a missing part of a program he gave so much to. He touched the lives of so many people in our community and made it a great place were those inviolved in sports knew Mike would always cheer them on and do the best they could. He will deeply missed at all the events that he truely gave his heart to. My deepest condolences to Mike's family and friends. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Mike was a huge inspiration to me. I had always enjoyed visiting him when I was at the rec. His smile was ever so contagious. You will be missed, and those children in Fremont whom do not yet know, you have even affected them with your dedication and devotion to our youth program. Thank you for all you have done, RIP. My condolences with the Piero family, God bless.
